Stricter controls for rail travellers await


Nine European countries impose inspection of rail passengers in order to reduce the risk of terrorist attacks.

The safety on trains in Europe will be tightened. This after the failed terrorist attack on a train between Amsterdam and Paris in August this year.

Id and luggage inspection

Nine European countries are making an effort to increase safety on board by doing controls of id-cards and luggage at some stations and cross-border trains. Ministers from nine European countries have also decided that the presence of armed patrols at train stations across Europe will increase.
