Lufthansa strike extended and expanded


The German pilot union has extended yesterday's strike at Lufthansa, which means that a total of 1 000 short- and medium distance flights are cancelled today, Wednesday.

Tuesday's strike by the German pilots in the union Vereinigung Cockpit entered a new phase at midnight, instead of coming to an end as planned.

This means that Lufthansa is forced to cancel a third of all short and medium haul flights from Germany on September 9, which will affect 1,000 flights and as many as 140,000 travellers.

Swedish airports will be affected

For Swedish consumers, a consequence is that all flights between Frankfurt and Arlanda and Landvetter respectively is cancelled, and the number of flights to and from Munich are limited.
