Lufthansa cancels long-haul flights


The German pilot union has announced that all long-haul flights with Lufthansa to and from Germany Tuesday, September 8, is cancelled due to a strike.

Lufthansa has been heavily affected by staff strikes in its native Germany for the past 18 months, and tomorrows action by the pilot union Vereinigung Cockpit is the thirteenth in the series.

This time it is Lufthansa's long-haul aircrafts to and from Germany that will be taken out of traffic. The strike is expected to last between the hours 8:00 to 23:59 Tuesday, September 8, according to the airline.
