New survey of e-commerce habits

The European Commission are currently researching e-commerce habits within Europe. Please submit your comments via a form provided below.

Both consumers and companies are increasingly choosing to shop online. But only 18 percent of consumers who last year used the Internet privately, bought anything online from another EU country. This compared with 55 percent who bought something in their own country.

Meanwhile, only 12 per cent of e-retailers in the EU sell their goods to consumers from other EU countries, while more than a third37 percent, sell goods within their own country.

The EU wants your opinion

The European commission now ants to investigate these facts further. A questionnaire aims to gather the views of interested parties on how to remove contractual barriers when buying online, both digital content and common goods.

Any questions, and the completed form, can be sent by e-mail to the European Commission's legal entity.
