European award goes to learning material from Sweden

The digital learning material "MIC for me" from the Swedish Media Council has won a competition within the European network Insafe, on best educational material in media and information literacy for children and young people.

The first prize means that the tool from the Swedish Media Council will be translated into English and thus made available to teachers and students in 31 European countries.

"MIC for me" is aimed at teachers, librarians and students in secondary schools. The tool is also available in an easy to read version.

Martina Högberg, project manager at the Swedish Media Council, presented the "MIC for me" for the Insafe network at a meeting in Prague, Czech Republic. Representatives from Insafe's member countries voted in a final between a total of five tools.

The competition is organized by European Schoolnet and Insafe. Insafe is a network of organizations from 31 European countries, which all implements awareness-raising activities and education campaigns in each country.
