Germanwings and Eurowings on airline strike

A strike at the German airlines Germanwings and Eurowings has led to almost 400 cancelled departures on Thursday. 40,000 passengers affected, writes SVT.

The union UFO announced on Thursday that the cabin crew on the two low-cost carriers are on strike. The strike starts at midnight on Thursday and will stay on during the evening. One of the companies, Eurowings, is subsidiary to the larger airline Lufthansa.

Cancelled departures from Arlanda

According to SVT Swedavia (which owns Arlanda outside Stockholm and Landvetter outside Gothenburg) announces that two departures from Arlanda are cancelled.  A departure from Landvetter tonight is still expected.

Swedavia has not received any information on how the strike will affect coming departures.
