World Consumers Rights Day 2013

3/15/2013

World Consumer Rights Day is an initiative of the organisation 'Consumers International (CI)' and is acknowledged all over the world.

CI was founded in 1960 and represents 240 consumer organisations in 115 countries. Their mission is to champion Consumer Rights internationally in order to help protect and empower consumers everywhere.

CI has now conducted a global survey in 58 countries that reveals gaps in the consumer protection. The results were published for the World Consumer Rights Day, as part of the consumer movement's demands for overhaul of the UN Guidelines for Consumer Protection.

Update 2016-02-08: The campaign has expired, and therefore, links with additional information have been removed.
