Holiday clubs etc

Like timeshare - but much worse.

"Not a form of timesharing - guaranteed!" This is often the way that consumers are recruited for membership of holiday clubs, travel discount clubs, point clubs, exchange schemes etc. It is important to remember that memberships in holiday clubs are not allowed to be marketed or sold as investments.

Offers of this kind were popping up all over the place since the "old" Timesharing Directive came into force and because unscrupulous companies are doing everything they can to scupper it. The "new" Timesharing Directive (in effect from February 23 2011) does, however, apply also to holiday clubs. You therefore have a statutory cooling-off period of 14 calender days.
