What can Konsument Europa help you with?

The Swedish Consumer Agency/Konsument Europa is a service function within the Point of Single Contact.

Konsument Europa provides general information about the Services Directive to recipients who are consumers.
The following information can be provided to recipients in Sweden:

  • General information on the requirements of service providers in other countries
  • Information on consumer law, practices and on consumer protection in other Member States.
  • General information about judicial review of a dispute between a provider and a recipient
  • Information about the Dispute Settlement Bodies
  • Contact information to professional organisations and associations where practical help is available
  • Information on the handling of complaints

We help our counterparts in other Member States with the information requested where the recipients are consumers.

Konsument Europa can provide information and advice if you have a specific consumer query regarding cross border shopping. We help local consumers who have experienced problems as a result of cross border shopping. Similarly, we can assist other European citizens who have complaints about goods or services ordered from a Swedish company or purchased while travelling in Sweden.

Our goal is to inform European consumers so they can take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the Internal Market.

Konsument Europa is a part of the Swedish Consumer Agency and also financed by the European Commission. We are a member of the European Consumer Centre Network (ECC) who has offices in all EU Member States plus Norway and Iceland.
