Concert Ticket Scam

2010-10-04

The European Consumer Center Austria currently receives a high number of complaints about the purchase of concert tickets via the Internet.

U2 in Vienna

The complaints especially concerned the sold out concert of the rock band U2 on August 30th 2010 in the Vienna Happel Stadium.
Consumers ordered tickets already several months before the show and paid in advance. The tickets should be delivered only a few days or weeks before the concert. Unfortunately they never arrived.
Afterwards the companies the tickets were ordered from did not answer to requests for refunding the purchase price of the tickets.

Totaltickets und Euroliveticket

A lot of complaints concerned the companies „totaltickets.co.uk“ and „euroliveticket.com“. As the companies are suspected to have committed fraud, there is only a slight chance to receive the purchase price for the tickets refunded.
