Right to exchange

Some shops that do not allow buying on approval may instead offer a right to exchange. This means that you can hand back the goods and choose something else instead.

Sometimes you may be offered a credit note if you regret a purchase. This means that you do not get your money back. Your liabilities when buying with right to exchange are on the whole the same as when buying on approval. Before paying, ask by what time at the latest you must hand back the goods. Always keep your receipt. There is often a sign saying "Reavaror bytes ej" ("No exchange of sale goods") in shops, which is easy to misunderstand. Of course you have the right to complain about goods bought in a sale - if there is something wrong with it.
