Prices

Prices may be set freely. The seller and the buyer may freely decide on a price.

A seller may therefore ask for any price he wishes. You as a customer influence the market by choosing the alternatives that offer the best value for money.

Agreements shall be kept. The price that you and the seller have agreed on shall apply. If you disagree, the seller has to show that the price he asks is reasonable. Value added tax (moms) shall always be included in the price. Only when one company is selling exclusively to other companies may it state prices without value added tax.

According to the price information law, the price shall be stated when a business markets goods and services direct to consumers. This applies, for instance, to display windows, shops, advertisements and direct mail. Comparative prices shall also be available for a large number of goods, particularly foods. The comparative price is, for instance, price per kilo or per litre. This makes it easier for people shopping to compare prices for goods of different brands.
